The Foundation has filed IRS Form 1023 and applied for federal tax exemption under 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3) as a nonprofit corporation operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and anticipates approval. During the pendency of the application process, we recommend that you consult your attorney and/or tax professional regarding contributions to the Opening Arguments Foundation.
No. The Opening Arguments Foundation is a progressive organization founded on the ideals set forth in our About Us page. However, pursuant to, and in compliance with, § 501(c)(3), the Opening Arguments Foundation is prohibited from carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation as well as participating or intervening in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any specific candidate for public office.
The Opening Arguments Foundation is committed to transparency, and will disclose all IRS Form 990 information.
